So, how was Christmas?

Mugging for the Camera

Pretty sweet! How about yours?

As you can see in the picture, Christmas in Florida let the J-Dawg get some sand on his paws. There were multiple trips to the beach, and much playing in the sand.

This was his first time as a toddler with the whole Nervda clan. He was probably a bit overstimulated with Grandma, Grandpa, Mama, Papa, Uncle Nutcase, Auntie K. and Auntie W. all around to play with. Add in an old 70's style ranch house with lots of unimpeded running around space and you've got one psyched up J-Dawg.

This trip coincided with an explosion in the boy's verbal ability. During the trip he busted out these new words:

Yeh Yeh (Taishanese for paternal grandfather)
Ngin Ngin (paternal grandmother)
fishes
ghetto
beach
Dee Dee (his attempt at Auntie W.'s name. "W" is a hard sound.)

I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple of words. With all the activity at the house, Jasper only really napped in the car. The rental car had a lot of nap miles put on it. I realized another reason I love our Scion xB. The back seat has enough room in it that we front seat people cannot be kicked by unnamed persons in a child safety seat. This cannot be said for a Dodge Caliber.

Christmas Day was a frenzy for unwrapping presents. Jasper loves to rip off the paper and hand it neatly to his valet. This day, it was Uncle W. (Nutcase). Lots of new toys and clothes.

The day after Christmas, we made a trip to Kennedy Space Center with my oldest friend , Will. (Well he's not the oldest guy who is my friend, but the friend with the longest tenure, as they would say in the Senate. We've known for 25 years or so.) Head on over to Flickr for pictures of that trip.

The boy is THRILLED that his puppy finally arrived from Thailand. You can read a bit more about Bodhi here.
